Overeaters Anonymous Meetings At Stillwaters in Lake Barrington, Illinois

oOvereaters Anonymous offers a program of recovery from compulsive eating using the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of OA. Worldwide meetings and other tools provide a fellowship of experience, strength and hope where members respect one another’s anonymity. OA charges no dues or fees; it is self-supporting through member contributions.

Stillwaters serves the entire Northwestern Suburban area with most of its membership coming from Algonquin, Cary, Fox River Grove, Island Lake, Lake Zurich, Schaumburg, Palatine, Hoffman Estates, Algonquin, McHenry, Woodstock, Barrington Area and more…

OA is not just about weight loss, weight gain or maintenance, or obesity or diets. It addresses physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. It is not a religious organization and does not promote any particular diet.

Service work is an integral part of a persons recovery process, and is both self gratifying and helpful to others. “Giving back” can range from making coffee before the meetings, cleaning up afterward, arranging chairs, serving on committees, hosting meetings, carrying the hotline phone, mentoring and sponsoring other addicts and myriad other ways.
